i'm getting there...

i'm getting there...i've almost completed herbert from heart in hand.  this little guy was included in my birthday gift from my oregon peep.  i thought i would send it back to her framed.  isn't he super cute!?
anyho, tomorrow, i'm spending the day with the sewing girls.  we are going shop hopping to some area quilt shops.  i'm looking forward to hanging out with them while browsing for fabric; it will be a great day!

this weekend...

this weekend hubby and i traveled to hackensack, mn to visit his nephew, who is on two week leave from the navy.  awesome to see him!
but as we traveled north, we did a little shopping.  hubby got two pairs of jeans and two pairs of winter boots...not really that fun for him.  i, on the other hand, got something really fun.  look what i got.  i've knitted a pair of socks before but not with two circular needles...so it might be a challenge for me.  oh well, i can't wait to start...

look what the postal service delivered...

look what the postal service delivered...and I have two more things on backorder.

here i am...i haven't posted in a while.

i've been busy working my j-o-b; but this past weekend, i have some great views. check it out: yep, you guessed it...i was at a quilting retreat friday, saturday and sunday.  i wish i could say i got a lot done, but i can't.  i do have a reason for my lack of productivity, i worked the retreat which my friend coordinated...oh and i talked and giggled too much.  i had sooooo much fun...

yesterday's progress...

here's yesterday's progress on the needle roll; i stayed home from the Tuesday's sewing day with the girls...i made bread and cleaned...i would have preferred the get together with the girls but you know what happens when duty calls...

also, take a look at the weather...honestly...how do we, Minnesotans, handle this kind of stuff?  guess, I should be thankful for ONLY the falling temps and not 2' of snow... :-) have fun you, easterners... :-)

Snow Fall Roll

at last but not least...the back order...

Here's the back order items from 1-2-3 stitch.com; can't wait to order from them again! However, the next visit will probably Stitchville USA; I have a customer appreciation card which I need to fill up.  Then I get $20 of merchandise for F-R-E-E!  Can't wait...but first I must be disciplined and finish a project or three before I take the roadtrip.  Repeat after me...MUST BE DISCIPLINED!! STAY FOCUSED!! COMPLETE A PROJECT OR TWO or THREE!!

Thank you Mr. UPS...

Look what the UPS man left for me:  Check out all of this goodness...so much fun to be created!

I've been playing with ink...

Yep... today, I've been playing with ink...take a look...wow-za...now that's what I'm talking about!

And here's what I created with the ink...
I'm not completely happy with how it turned out, but I got the mailbox for $1.00.  So I'll try again until I get it the way I want it.  Product Review: I used Tim Holtz's Grudge Paper for the flower.  Interesting stuff to use...it has a leather like feel with an strange smell, but works really nice.  I (heart) Tim Holtz! and anything he's created...check out his blog. He's listed the new stamps...w-a-y cool stuff...the guy is a genius!!  Anyho, thank you for stopping by!

I started with this...and ended finishing this...

I wanted to post this last night, however, my hubby arrived home after being gone for three days.  Needless to say, I was happy to see him!!

While I was waiting from him, I started working on this C-U-T-E needle roll from Shepherd's Bush.  This cross stitch item is one of several needle roll kits which I purchased at a garage sale last year.  Absolutely YUMMY!  Then I felt like working on some embroidery projects which I started a year or so ago.  Seriously, I have too many UFO projects...looking forward to completing them this year...hopefully!
Sheperd's Bush
Snow Fall Roll
Starry Pine Pattern Co.
Mini Wooly Whimsey Sampler Embroidery

that's what I'm talkn' about...

Without any further adieu, here is the completion of Simply Live by Primitive Needle.  If you remember this project is a gift for my Secret Santa on my hubby's side of the family.  I was under the weather before x-mas, so I wasn't able to complete it.  I'm very happy to have this project completed...very exciting!  I'm even more excited that I purchased enough linen to cross stitch this project for myself.  The Valdani threads are just yummy!

Project Name: Simply Live
Pattern Maker: Primitive Needle
Threads: Valdani
Linen: 36 ct. Legacy

Talking being under the weather, Minnesota has entered a C-O-L-D snap.  Check the temps out:  In particular, tonight's tempertures:  YIKES, now that's frick'n cold!  And all I can say is, "Only in Minnesota"...it bites. :-)
