Thank U to you...

I went upstairs to make a card...to participate in the Mojo Monday sketch with Splitcoaststampers.com color challenge.  However, I didn't end up creating for either challenges.  Instead, I made a Thank You card for Tyler (my old boss); he got me a planner when I transferred to another department...very thoughtful of him.  I appreciate him and wanted to let him know...so here's what I created:

Stamp Set: Vintage Label (retired) and Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Choc. Chip and Taken with Teal (retired)
Cardstock: Choc. Chip, Autumn Meadows Designer Paper
That Little Something: Vintage Trinkets (button) brad, Smooch Spritz (log cabin), and Linen Thread

Local Scrap booking store closing...

The local scrap booking store is closing...and although I should be sad for Lisa...I'm excited for her new adventure.  This week is her last week...so I wanted to stop by to say, "good bye and congratulations (on your new adventures)."  I did purchase some items before she closed; here's what I got:

Oh Joy Chipboard and Be Good Designer Papers by Cosmo Cricket

Winter's Wings Designer Paper by Webster's Pages,
Dew Drops, Seam Binding Green (vintage),  Lace Ribbon Navy,
and All Dressed Up Chipboard by DCWV

Picking flowers...

I was picking flowers in my garden...look...aren't the tulips beautiful.
This flower is from the Ruby's Garden by Waltzing with the Bear.  I need to finish the butterfly...but I thought it was close enough to share with you guys.

It's time for a pretty card...

I'd been itching to create a card...now all I needed to do was find the time.  I started this card last night and finished it after I got home from work.  I weighed my options...went with Mojo190 sketch with Splitcoaststampers.com Color Challenge.

The Color Challenge included Certainly Celery, Blushing Bride and So Saffron; here's what the Mojo Sketch looked like:

RECIPE(supplies are SU! unless otherwise noted)
Stamp Set: Tim Holtz's Stampers Anonymous (Mini Ornates)
Ink: Certainly Celery, Blushing Bride, So Saffron and Early Expresso
Cardstock: Certainly Celery, Blushing Bride, So Saffron and Early Expresso Cardstock along with Designer Series Paper Pack- In Color
That Little Something: Tattered Angels Spritz (Suede), Early Expresso Bakers Twine, Big Designer Buttons (Candy Cane-Retired) and Certainly Celery Ribbon (Retired)

Working on my other flowers...

I didn't feel like working on the roses; they are too thorny for me, right now. :-)
So I picked up some other flowers from Starry Pines Pattern Co.  The pattern name is Mini Wooly Whimsey Sampler Embroidery...kinda long title for a pattern but whatever...I still love the flowers.  This is block number 6; I started is last night then finished it today during the Tuesday Sewing Group.  I've got Block 9 traced; so that's the next one...I think. Now I think I'm going to clean out my car...then something else...then something else...you catch what's going on.  :-)

Happy Birthday to you...

Happy Birthday to you...Michelle!  So I know that this gift was to come to you several years ago...but it's better late than never...right?!
Anyho, hope you had a great day.  You are a great friend!
Please note: the binding will be done by the time you receive this gift...promise...cross my heart...hope to death...poke a needle in my eye... (smile)!

Working on the roses...

Yep, I've been working on my roses for the afghan.  Sadly, they haven't been growing very fast.  I think they need a little fertilizer!  I'll see what I can find, until then here's my progress.  I need to work on my friends birthday gift...a little sewing project which is causing me to pull my hair out! :-)  Hopefully, I won't be bald before the project is completed!  ;-)

Hoppy Easter...

Here's what I've picked up since finishing...

Here's what I've picked up since finishing my quilt.  I've got to keep on working on my project list if I want to get it done by the end of the year.  My mom bought this afghan at a garage sale several years ago.  I'm not much of a yellow rose lover, so I've changed the rose color to mauve.  She managed to purchase three or four cross stitch afghans, so I'm going to give this one to my mom when I'm finished.....maybe my goal can be Mother's Day.  I'll see what I can accomplish...:-)

I've got some sewing to do today...It's my friends birthday this week!  I'm going to finish sewing project I started at least two or three years ago for her...but never completed.  I'm excited to get it done for her today...She will love it!

Something finished for 2011...

I finished a quilt which wasn't on my 2011 project list, so I did what most anyone would do...I quickly added the item then included the word, "COMPLETED". I'm happy to have another project off my list even if it wasn't on the original list.  :-)
Now I need to work on the Easter baskets for my nieces, nephews and DH's grandkids.

Sweet tooth anyone...

I made Easter cookies for my nieces and DH's grandkids.  I wish I could sent some cookies to my nephews, but the United States Postal Service frowns on sending "perishable" items. Oh, pooo!  Anyho, I think I'm going to be making more mid-week.  Darling husband thinks they are really good!  We'll see what happens?! Have a great week!

I think I can go play in my craft room now...Yippeee!!!

I had every intention...

I had every intention to create a card for the Splitcoaststampers.com color challenge using Pear Pizazz, Pretty in Pink and So Saffron; however, while gathering supplies, I got this idea...
I really wanted to create a banner card since it's been the craze to use them in a card.  While I was taking inventory of my ribbon supply, I came across some retired 1 1/4 inch twill from SU!  Its so thick, I have troubles using it in a card.  But I just thought it would make a perfect banner...hopefully, I was right.  Here's what I came up with instead of doing the color challenge.

RECIPE(supplies are SU! unless otherwise noted)
Stamp Set: You're a Gem, Friends 24-7 and Artistic Etching (inside)
Ink: Basic Black
Cardstock: Very Vanilla and Love Letter
That Little Something: Twill Ribbon (retired), Linen Thread, Hemp Twine, Vintage Trinkets, Trinket Keys and Black Rhinestones
That Little Helper: Sponging, sewing machine, Glue Dots and Stampin' Dimensionals

Happy Belated Birthday Nolan....

Yep, it's belated!  I wish life didn't get soooo busy that you missed ones birthday, but it does happen.  I know he had a great day, so no worries in that department.  He's a brilliant little boy.  I love you!

Here's the card I created for his birthday:
RECIPE(supplies are SU! unless otherwise noted)
Stamp Set: Best Bots Forever and Sanded Background

Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Pear Pizzazz, and Blue Bayou (retired)
Cardstock: Whisper White Cardstock
That Little Something: Smooch Spritz Log Cabin, and pretty ribbon
That Little Helper: Scallop Trim Border punch, Word Window Large punch, Sanding Block, Sponging and Stampin' Dimensionals

No more snow...

There aren't piles of snow in Minnesota anymore...so I thought I needed to complete Herbert!  I needed to get him finished so he won't melt.  :-)   Speaking of finishing projects, I'd better hustle on my Project List for 2011...it's already April and Herbert is the first to be completed.  Anyho, I'm glad he's completed.  He turned out cute!

Next to Stampin' Up! paper...

Next to Stampin' Up! paper, I'm a lover of Graphic 45 paper!  Check out the new addition to my paper.  Can't wait to create something with it!  Pretty, Pretty, Pretty!

Check out Blackbird Design's posting...

As many of you know...I love Blackbird Design's.  Those ladies are amazing!

Here's a posting from them....these pics speak for themselves....Thank you for sharing, Alma!

I know what you're thinking...

I know what you're thinking...and no I'm not a shop-alcoholic.  It just looks that way...work has been really, really busy.  I haven't had time to create much; as a result, I haven't been able to post much either!
PaperTrey Ink stuff was received at least three weeks ago...and I haven't even used them, yet.  How sad is that situation!? :-) The Paper Bouquet book and tools were purchased this week.  My Oregonian peep has created some great looking paper flowers to add to her cards....so, of course, I needed to try out the flowers, too.

Hopefully, life will get back on track...and I'll have time to create some things, or sew, or cross-stitch....anything...and I'll feel normal again!

Tomorrow, I'm planning on a post; please check back for something fun!

See ya!

Purchased at my local Stampin' store

PaperTrey Ink purchased at least 3 weeks ago.

Check out the color....

And the oddest thing happened...I got home and this nail polish was in my bag.  It's Abigail's OPI nail polish...I think she put it in my bag.  What the heck!  I'm going to sent it back...but I did use it on my toes first.  :-)  Check out the color...isn't it B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!!!  It's super cute on my toes, too!!  Thanks Abigail...XOXOX!

RoadTrip to Iowa...

Recently, hubby and I had a road trip to Iowa to visit his daughter and son-in-law.  We had a really nice time with them!  Abigail took me to a quilt shop, so I was happy!  Here are some of the things I purchased.  We, also, went to Michaels Craft Store.  OMG, they had some great deals.  Would love to show them to you, however,  I've put them with all my other papers....and not digging them out...right now anyway! :-)
Reusable Grocery Sac for Abigail and myself

Really cute purse pattern!

Even cuter fat quarters!

Something while we were out...

Hubby and I went out for day; I was able to stop by Archiver's while we were out running around.  Here's what I got:

I'm going to sent some of the paper selection to my Oregon peep; oh and some of the keys, too.  And don't worry Hubby got to stop by Cabela's... :-)

“To the world you may be just one person, but to one person you may be the world.” (Brandi Snyder)

6 years ago....I said, "I do" to my world.

Happy Anniversary! I love you, babe.

I'm here...

I'm here...just busy with life.  No time for fun, lately...although today I was able to get together with the girls, but I don't have anything to show.  However, we did cut several squares for the BowTie quilt. Since we are doing the quilt as a group, each of us will need one set...and there's four of us.

1.25" squares = 32 x 4 kits = 128

2.0" squares = 66 x 4 kits = 264

3.5" squares = 34 x 4 kits = 136

Any we aren't done cutting, yet.  I'm not sure what we were thinking when it was decided to cut 1.25" squares. Y-I-K-E-S!!

Anyho, I hope to have something more to show in the next couple of days.  So until then...

Here's a Cute Yellow Card...

Here's a cute yellow card which I created for the Paper Craft's Moxie Fab World:

Progress Report...

Here's my progress on the Small Steps quilt pattern which can be found in American Patchwork & Quilting (December 2010).
The strips are 1 inch...yes, that's what I said...1 inch.  The verdict is still out on whether I'm crazy for wanting to sew this quilt.  Within the next few days, I'm going to sew one block to see how painful this quilt might be.  I'll get back to you when I do...

Yesterday was soooo much fun...

Yesterday was sooo much fun;  I had a blast!  We visited 4 quilt shops: Blue Bamboo (Plymouth), Four Seasons (Maple Grove), SR Harris Fabric Outlet (Brooklyn Park) and Millie P's (Anoka)
Each store had a lot of beautiful quilt displayed; there was so much inspiration! I know that I've created more work for myself with these purchases, but I love my hobbies!
Anyho, here's what I got:

Max & Whiskers Charm Pack (Basic Grey)

Cool Lizard Fabric (Timeless Treasures)

Really pretty card ribbon to share with my Oregonian peep

Really cute scissors for Embroidery and Cross Stitch

another really cute scissors for Embroidery and Cross Stitch
