enjoying my time...

Hello again...it's me again! I've been working on some things...

For the past couple of years, I've enjoyed making holiday cards for my co-worker...it takes off the stress of the holidays...and I can have fun making cards.  I coordinated  several challenges...mainly because they provided inspiration...that's the only reason!

Here's a listing of the challenge which I participated in:

Merry Monday #140: Create a card using a snowflake

And here's the cards I created using the challenges:

I modified the sketch slightly, so I could create a shaker card.  They are so much fun to create..hopefully, you can see the snowflakes in the shaker?!

I did use another sketch to create my nephew's belated birthday card:

Oh, before I forget, I did manage to complete my Vintage Christmas Quilt...remember, the one which I was hmmm and a a-hmmm about...well, a lot of the times, I don't end up doing anything...instead of JUST DOIN' IT!

So as a result, I machine quilted the quilt...and got the binding done...and was able to hang it!

This little huddle will provide a nice foundation for things going forward...I hope! Besides, my hubby loved it...and really...that's all that matters!

And it's the first accomplishment for 2015 allpeoplequilt.com challenge:

I will admit...it was an easy start, but I got it done!

Anyho, here it is:

Hope you enjoy your day! For me...it's the last day of vacation! Pooo! So back into the craft room I go to enjoy the last bit of the fun!

Time for a break...

It's time for a break from the cross stitch posting...tomorrow I'll have an update for the Christmas stocking...but today I wanted to create a card...and I remembered that Retro Sketches posts new challenges on Saturday...I liked the challenge, but I had at least 3-4 try's  because I couldn't get the raises just right...

I cut paper which I had to throw away...I hate that! But I did it and I didn't give up...I have a tendency to not work on a card if I have to experiment or test as I go...so I was happy when I did get it right! Or at least to my likings...

Cardstock: SU! whisper white & strawberry slush
Designer paper: unknown...paper I got from BFF a long time ago! Felt good to finally use it!
Stamp set: SU! Four Square
Ink: SU! strawberry slush
Accessories: SU! Scallop square punch

Another amazing day....to create in my craft room!

Good Evening, seriously, I could live in Minnesota FOREVER if all the days were like today.  It was 80 degrees and sunny with a slight breeze! Perfect! Yes, perfect...of course, it was before the bugs hatched and the humidity make living life unbearable! So YES, it was PERFECT!

I ran up to my craft room...to participate in the Pals Paper Arts Challenge...and used the Color Throwdown Challenge...so, so, relaxing to create...it's seriously my zen!

Well, I should take that back...it wasn't relaxing at first...I couldn't figure out which stamp set to use...I usually have a process to my creation which goes something like this: 1.) find a sketch 2.) figure which designer paper to use 3.) figure which cardstock colors to use 4.) figure out which stamp set to use....then start cutting and such...but I didn't use my usual process...I needed to auditioned at least 4 or 5 different stamps...before I found one that worked well...isn't this doll a cutie! It's just so sweet...don't you think?!

My life has been crazy...

My life has been crazy...in the last month...I've been moved into 2 different departments...which for my employer is crazy!  My last move has me starting early morning hours...which has been an adjustment.  I've been doing early morning for the last 3 weeks...my life has not been my own...except for today.  Hubby went fishing...and I went to my craft room!

After creating this birthday card for my twin brother....seen below...I went to my local craft store...to do some browsing.  I got a couple of Tim Holtz's items...but nothing super exciting!

Anyho...back to the card...I loosely followed the layout from Retro Sketches # 38...you might be thinking...what's up with the beet?  I agree...but I liked the Stampin' Up! stamp set when I purchased it over a 1 1/2 years ago...and was so excited with the stamp set that it's the first time I used any of the stamps from the whole set.  Yeah, me!

Enjoy your day!
