Labor Day of Cross Stitching...

Well, I'm here...time has provided me with a lot of it since hubby has been out of town! I have spent my time keeping household business in order...or at least trying to do so! It seems to be a cat and mouse game to keep things up to snuff...you know?!

I have planned my days accordingly with daily tasks...sometimes those tasks fall by the wayside, only to be picked up another day...but in the end all tasks are DONE! And the house is clean!

I have worked diligently for 2 reason: keep myself busy and keep myself busy...I happy to say it has kept my mind of hubby being out of town.  But I’m happy to report the house has been spit shined and is ready for my VIP on Thursday...I am beyond excited to see hubby! BEYOND! Excited!

Since I have worked so hard to get things in order I have rewarded myself...today was a day of rest and CRAFTING!  I've been working on some projects for Christmas...since it's almost around the corner...as a matter of perspective, it's almost right around the corner.  One of the projects are cross stitch stockings for my brothers family!  And yes, I know I shouldn’t get too overjoyed but have one ALMOST accomplished!  But I'm over the moon with the small success...I will finish stitching this stocking in a matter of hours...but I need to order the charms which compliment it.  I wonder if there's a chart which indicates the placement of the beads and charms...looks like I will need to investigate.

Thank you for stopping by my blog; have a great evening!

AllPeopleQuilt UFO Challenge 2015...progress report

Good morning! Haven't posted in a while...I've been experiencing the hardship of having your spouse working out of state Monday thru Friday...there's always lots to do around the house.  And I fight almost all of the cleaning duties! I don't like cleaning, but I don't want hubby coming home to a messy house, you know?!

However, I've gotten the hang of using Instagram! I know crazy! I'm learning...about the different modes of social media...wow! Has the world changed since I was a child!

Anyho, I've been participating in the AllPeopleQuilt UFO Challenge 2015...I think I've posted some previous month...currently still working on February's project! I've had a slight setback...I'm ripping out the border!

Here's the pic:

This months challenge number is: 3

For me, it's the Halloween cross stitch project which I purchased last fall at my local needle specialty store! Great place...I love going there!! Can't wait for my next visit...probably this late spring!

Here's where I left off on this project:

I'll be juggling the two projects until they are both accomplished at the end of the month!

I have a lot more going on...but I'll wait for another posting! 😊

Hope evey ones has a great day!

2015 AllPeopleQuilt.com UFO Challenge...for February Progress Report

Originally, I thought I had posted the next AllPeopleQuilt.com challenge, but I guess it was only posted on my Instagram account!

So the challenge continues, as  you may know, a number is posted the 1st Monday of each month.  These numbers corresponds with a monthly listing of UFO which the participants created shortly after the beginning of the year.

If you still want to participate, check out the details:  2015 allpeoplequilt.com challenge

February has been here for 2 weeks...and like I said I thought I posted the challenge via my blog, but I was wrong...

Anyho, this month's number is 7!

And here's the pic from my instagram account:

It's been a slow start for me...and I still want to keep with the theme of getting UFO projects finished...so I'll end here...

I must go stitch!

Laterz!

A little here...a little there...

Good afternoon, I've been stitching a little here...a little there...all day.  I've wanted to head upstairs to make a card, but I'm already a week behind.  I wanted my brothers family to have the stocking before Christmas so that means I need to KEEP stitching!

My revised goal is to have this stocking completed by the end of the week...hoping I'm able to keep it! If I'm able to keep the goal...I'm rewarding myself by going to the Anchor Paper store...(lots of fun stuff for any paper crafting obsession)...then i would like to go to the cross stitch store in Minnetonka to get things for the next stocking...so with that being said...here's my update to the stocking...I'm going to stitch some more before I head to bed...

Pretty lacey dress...

Just wanted to stop by with a progress report...I've been working on the Christmas stocking very dilegently! Although you may not be able to tell, I've just completed the bottom of the angels dress...I'm having a lot of fun!  I'm hoping to have the dres completely by tonight...perhaps if I can keep my eyes open...maybe I need to get the second DVD of Downton Abbey's forth season!

Did I mention that I got a Fat Eighth bundle and some yardage of Moda's S'Mores Love fabric...it's super cute and I can't wait to do something with it!

Until next time!

A progress report...

So I had this project sitting by my lounge chair for some time...maybe a month...and I needed something to work on while I was watching House of Cards from Netflix...which I'm hooked on...it has a dark tone of politics...ANYHO...it was nice to work on...all I have left is the border...the boring stuff!

I looked at the whole pattern to see how much I have left to cross stitch...and I'm happy to report that there's only 4 more segments to stitch...and I'm even happier to report that I have a vacation coming up...8 days!! This should provide plenty of time to complete the other 4 segments as well as several other projects which have been on my radar for a while! I. CAN. NOT. WAIT.

Oh my...I have some work to do!

Often, I like to visit my own blog...just to see what I've worked on, what I have to work on, and what I dream of working on...Check out this pictures of my 2013 project list:

Oh, my...I have some work to do!

Old Glory's alphabet is completed...

Old Glory's alphabet is completed...I didn't have a few fixes, but nothing which wasn't to be expected!  It's been really fun to work on something else...so now I think I'm going to start Hawk Run Hollow...so much fun...and absolutely crazy!

Enjoy the rest of your day!

an early good morning...

it's an early morning for me... but i wanted to post some of my progresses:

yesterday was sewing with my quilting peeps...i'm starting another two quilts...is that legal since I already created my 2011 Project List??  oh, well...here it is:

have a great day...

I've discovered...I don't like the fancy stitches...just the x's

Group Project with my quilting peeps
Bowtie Medallion from Big Book of Scrap Quilts
Fabric Selection: 30's and 40's Reproductions

Small Steps from American Patchwork & Quilting (December 2010)
Fabric Selection: My Fabric Scrap Stash

I started with this...and ended finishing this...

I wanted to post this last night, however, my hubby arrived home after being gone for three days.  Needless to say, I was happy to see him!!

While I was waiting from him, I started working on this C-U-T-E needle roll from Shepherd's Bush.  This cross stitch item is one of several needle roll kits which I purchased at a garage sale last year.  Absolutely YUMMY!  Then I felt like working on some embroidery projects which I started a year or so ago.  Seriously, I have too many UFO projects...looking forward to completing them this year...hopefully!
Sheperd's Bush
Snow Fall Roll
Starry Pine Pattern Co.
Mini Wooly Whimsey Sampler Embroidery

that's what I'm talkn' about...

Without any further adieu, here is the completion of Simply Live by Primitive Needle.  If you remember this project is a gift for my Secret Santa on my hubby's side of the family.  I was under the weather before x-mas, so I wasn't able to complete it.  I'm very happy to have this project completed...very exciting!  I'm even more excited that I purchased enough linen to cross stitch this project for myself.  The Valdani threads are just yummy!

Project Name: Simply Live
Pattern Maker: Primitive Needle
Threads: Valdani
Linen: 36 ct. Legacy

Talking being under the weather, Minnesota has entered a C-O-L-D snap.  Check the temps out:  In particular, tonight's tempertures:  YIKES, now that's frick'n cold!  And all I can say is, "Only in Minnesota"...it bites. :-)

Until then,

brrrrr....

Hello...from a full tummy!

Good Morning, I have survived the Thanksgiving feast.  Yesterday was the first of several days during the holiday season that my stomach will hate me.  Yes, it's true...I don't need to feed myself until I'm too full, but the food is sooooo good.  Today, I will have leftovers...YUMMY!
Any ho, I've been working on my Simply Live cross stitch project.  I think I've made some progress.  But it's not perfect, I've noticed there's a mistake with the green flower and some objects around it.  I counted wrong...So I'll have to check it out...later...or not!
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving...and even a better Black Friday to all the shoppers.
Tomorrow I'm thinking about making some christmas cards...I'm excited to play with my stamps.

An early birthday gift for me...

My sewing buddy wasn't feeling well today, so I had a day off from it.  Instead, I went to Stitchville USA to spend some time browsing.  My birthday is coming up; so I thought I would treat myself.  However, I did start on my christmas list.  I'm stitching the Simply Love from The Primitive Needle for my Secret Santa on the Hudak side; the Valdani threads are this project...so p-r-e-t-t-y.  I can't wait to start it...AFTER I get the Hearts project completed.  Check it out...I'm hoping to have it completed by this weekend.  We'll see if I'm able to get it completed...stay tuned.

(side note: OMG!! I got hooked up with my Oregonian peep on Skype...and I cried.  Seriously, what a dork I am...I was soooo happy to see her!! I received some of her creative juices via Skype, so I'll probably start some Christmas cards to sell on Esty.com.  Check out my esty link.)

I'm not sure where the buttons go...the pattern doesn't say where to place them. Could get interesting!  I'll keep you posted.

a little something different...

Good Afternoon, I thought I would go with something a little different. Here's a pattern my hubby got me while we visited the Czech/Slovak Museum in Cedar Rapids, IA last year.
I've been wanting to work on some cross stitch projects, but just haven't made the time.
I'm surprised I remembered how to stitch; I haven't cross-stitched for more than 10 years or so.  I must admit this little project was a nice change in things.  I would like incorporate different things other than just cards into my blog, I hope you don't mind.

Within the next couple of weeks, I would like to visit Stitchville USA (a nice stitch shop) to start collecting BlackBird Design's Anniversaries of the Heart.  I'll keep you posted on the field trip.  Until then, here's my latest project which I have finished.

Cloth: 22 Count
Floss: Weeks Dye Works Color Iris

Oh ya, Oregon peep: I tried to call you today.  Call me when you can...Love you!
