getting the mojo juices flowing...

It has been some time since i've last posting anything; life has been extremely busy for me and my craft room has not been the source of inspiration for me.

As a result, in the last couple days, my craft room has seen an overall.  I got some book shelves to assist in organization which freed me up to get rid of some bulky items like a table and such.  I'll share some pics later this week.  I feel like I can breath in the room; here's my first creation since transformation.  I participated in Mojo Monday 152 sketch challenge:

Time, Time, Time

I try to get things done in a timely manner.  However, in most cases, life gets in the way. For instance, my hubby had foot surgery last friday...and as you will see is not as mobile as he used to be.  It has been interesting around the house...I've been doing all of my household duties as well as his outside duties...oh and add a 40 hour job into the mix. Thankfully, we have three great neighbor kids (and a couple family members) who are starting to help us me with the outside duties.  THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!

I hoping you'll understand if some of my postings are a "little" late...

my fury friend...

Good Evening! I knew that I had to submit my card for Splitcoaststamper's Friday Challenge when I read that it was creating a card of your favorite fury friend!  For those of you who know anything about me...you knew what animal I would be including in today's card!  (Although I did think it would be funny to include the elephant from Tim Holtz's stamp set.)  However, I stayed true to myself and included my C-A-T.  Her name is Kane; she is my fury friend!  She is my right hand man cat!  She loves me when I'm happy, sad, giggly, crappy, healthy, sick, etc., etc., etc.  I've included a pic of her; isn't she beautiful!! She's been through a lot of life with me...I'm very fortunate to have her.  I (heart) you, my feline friend!

just like putting on an old pair of shoes...kinda

Good evening, I'm here...with my old pair of shoes.  They fit very well and are comfortable...a lot like creating this card and actually posting it on my blog.  Today, I created this card for the splitcoaststampers.com sunday challenge.  The featured stamper was leanne pugliese; she had a lot of amazing cards to pick from her gallery.  Here's a link of the card I cased for today's challenge: cas55 christmas card makeover.  Rules to participating in the featured stamper challenge: 1) change 2 or more things on the cards and 2) give credit to the original stamper.

Holy cow, I'm working double duty...

Good Morning, I'm working double duty because I need to make up for no posting last week.  So here it is, I'm participating in Mojo132 Monday and SCS's Technique Lover's Challenge.  I had a lot of fun creating this card; The SU! stamp set, A Good Egg, has been waiting to be inked up, so to speak.  I especially like the vintage feel of this card.  I have an old soul, so the more vintage feel the card has the better.

The SCS challenge to "do up" the inside of the card was a challenge.  Usually, I put so much energy in the front of a card, the inside goes untouched. It really didn't need much more to include the inside as it did the front.  I liked the simplicity of the inside, let me know what you think.

RECIPE (SU! supplies used unless noted)
Stamp Set: A Good Egg
Ink: Basic Black, Pretty In Pink, Barely Banana, and Apricot Appeal
Cardstock Paper: Pretty In Pink and Sweet Pea DP Paper Stack
That Little Something: Shell Button, Pretty In Pink Taffeta Ribbon, Texture Kit #4
That Little Helper: Sewing Machine and Nestabilities,

Mojo on a Wednesday...

Good Morning, everyone!
Yep, it's getting better; it's mojo on a Wednesday!  Maybe next week will be "mojo on Thrusday."  I guess the card should be green since it's St. Patrick's Day...seems I am a day late and a day stamp short.  Well, have to see if I have enough time since my hubby and I are heading to the Experince Hendrix concert at the historic Orphem Theatre.  Here's the advisement from the concert website:
This very special concert event celebrating the music of Jimi Hendrix gathers an amazing all-star line-up of rock guitarists! Scheduled to appear: Joe Satriani, Billy Cox (of Band of Gypsys and the Jimi Hendrix Experience), Sacred Steel featuring Robert Randolph, Jonny Lang, Susan Tedeschi, Eric Johnson, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Ernie Isley, David Hidalgo & Cesar Rosas (from Los Lobos), Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford, Doyle Bramhall II, Living Colour, Legendary Howlin' Wolf guitarist Hubert Sumlin, and Chris Layton of Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble. Other special guests to be announced.
Oh, maybe I should create a Hendrix card...I'll have to see what I can do...I don't know if I have any ROCKN' stamps.  I'll get back to you.  Until then,  here's what I create for the Mojo Monday card challenge:

Finally a posting...

Good Evening! Finally a posting...time has been precious last week.  I didn't have a lot of time to create in my craft room.  However, I did have enough time to go shopping with my misfit quilting friends! Fun, Fun, Fun!
Today, I made Monster Cookies...Yummy.  Got the recipe from one of my misfit quilting friends.  It is as follows:

Michelle's Monster Cookies
1/2 cup Butter
3 Eggs
1 cup Brown Sugar (packed)
1 cup White Sugar
1 Tbsp Vanilla
16 oz. Chunky Peanut Butter (I like to use Chunky verses using Peanuts)
2 tsp. Baking Soda
4 1/2 cup Oatmeal
1/2 cup Chocolate Chips
1/2 lb. M & M's
Bake at 350 degrees for 10 - 12 minutes.  This recipe makes 5 dozen cookies.

I, also, had time to create my anniversary card.  I participated in the SplitcoastStampers.com sketch from last Wednesday.  I seem to be drawn to card sketches as a foundation; it assists in the layout which I find to be too time consuming.  Any ho, on the 19th of March, I will be married to the greatest guy for 5 years.  I am one of many who proclaim they are married to a wonderful guy!  My membership to this (silent) group is wonderful. The card isn't anything super, but I did something different.  I used a SU! rub-on image then ink sponged over it and wiped away the ink from the rub-on image.  This card is what I was left with...

RECIPE (SU! supplies used unless noted)
Stamp Set: Three Little Words and Texture Stampin Around (jumbo)
Ink: Sahara Sand and Black
Cardstock: Sahara Sand and To The Nines Specialty DP
That Little Something: Icicle Rub On
That Little Helper: Sponge

mojo on a tuesday...

Honestly, if I could buy time, I would be in debt up to my eyeballs.  I had wanted to post this card yesterday, but as the end of the day came closer and closer, I knew that my wish was not going to be fulfilled.  And as the end of today inches closer, I had better high-tail-it-in-gear to get this post completed.  I wish I had the SU! beautiful wings embosslits like my Oregonian Peep, check her card out:  www.petitedoodle.com/mojo128. It turned out C-U-T-E!!  Any how, here's what I came up with for the Mojo Challenge 128 (see below):

RECIPE
Stamp Set: Vintage Labels from Sale-a-Bration
Ink: Pretty in Pink and Glorious Green
Cardstock Paper: DCWV paper bundle
That Little Something: Lime Green Ribbon

It's Mojo Monday...

It's Mojo Monday and I'm participating!  They have a great team at the Mojo blog site; creating some wonderful sketches for us to work with!  Here's what I created from this week's sketch:

RECIPE:
Stamp Set: Happy Moments
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Cardstock Paper: Rich Razzleberry and Melon Mambo
Designer Paper: Razzleberry Lemonade
That Little Something: Rich Razzleberry Ribbon
That Little Helper: Curly Label Punch, Cutter Kit and Spellbinders Nestabilities

Good Evening, everyone
OMGosh, who would have thought that a Splitcoaststamper's card sketch could be so difficult?  I struggled with this sketch all day; then I change my tactical approach.  I found a stamp set which would most compliment the card sketch.  Yes, I know the Stampin' Up! gods are frowning because I've used a "retired" stamp set.  My argument would be stated as such: I need to show my client base that the "retired" stamp sets are just as valuable as to not disrupt the creative juices which occurs from time to time.  Anyho, I'm glad I didn't let the creative block set in by being stuck on the current stamp sets.

RECIPE:
Stamp Set: Love Ya Bunches
Ink: SU! Black
Paper: Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede and Whisper White

Designer Paper: Thoroughly Modern
That Little Something: Whisper White Organza Ribbon and misc. white button
That Little Helper: Stampin' Write Markers

Only a little time left...

Only a little time left before I can't wish y'all a Happy New Year!  Hope y'all had a safe and wonderful New Year's Eve.  As you have probably noticed, I haven't posted ANYTHING since early November.  I'm happy to report that things will settle down on the home front, so I'm able to make posting more often in the future.  My craft room has missed me; and I have missed my craft room.  I've VERY excited to get back in the swing of things!  VERY, VERY excited.  I've been working on a different format of my blog...y'a know to keep things fresh.  It's not completely finished, so thanks for sticking around to see the changes.

Once again, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

criss cross to you...

I was talking to my Oregon peep; she suggested that I try the Criss Cross card.  She mentioned it was easy and looks very cute.  She was right!  The card was easy and very C-U-T-E!  Check it out...sorry about the pic.  I wasn't sure the best way to capture the inside and outside of the card.  This is what I came up with...
