Oh my...I have some work to do!
Often, I like to visit my own blog...just to see what I've worked on, what I have to work on, and what I dream of working on...Check out this pictures of my 2013 project list:

Old Glory's alphabet is completed...
Old Glory's alphabet is completed...I didn't have a few fixes, but nothing which wasn't to be expected! It's been really fun to work on something else...so now I think I'm going to start Hawk Run Hollow...so much fun...and absolutely crazy!
Enjoy the rest of your day!

I love retail therapy at the local quilt store....
I've been wanting to add to my stash for the Farmer's Wife Sampler quilt...and I found out my local quilt store was going to be carrying the entire line of Bonnie & Camille's Happy-Go-Lucky line of fabric from Moda. I was very excited...because I knew I wanted to be able to financially support the local quilt store by purchasing a fat quarter of the entire line. I love retail therapy at the local quilt store! And...tomorrow is Sunday...and I'm going to be in the craft room with my sewing machine humming! Can't wait!
Needed a change...
I needed a change in scenery...so I've started Shepherd's Bush's Old Glory. I know...I know...to goes against everything in me, but I needed a change. And here's something really crazy...I might start Autumn at Hawk Run Hollow by the end of the week...crazy...I know...but I've been waiting and waiting until I've completed the Lizzie Kate's Christmas Rules...and well...I can't wait anymore! Totally...out of the box for me! Heck...this weekend...I might even have a cocktail...woooo....
It was a kit which I purchased at a craft sale; it has a bunch of fancy stitches...hoping I don't get frustrated...and throw it by the wayside. The kit included silk threads...I've never used silk before...and to be honest with you...the verdict is still out. It's soft and feels really nice...but it kinda unravels...I don't know...I'll get back to you...on the FINAL verdict.
Anyho, until then...laterz!

Whoa...mama!
Whoa...mama! I've been playing with iMovie...and here's what I created:
There's a lot of run for improvement, but it's a start!

Another completed...
Good evening, everyone...it's seems too long since I last posted anything...I think it's safe to say that I'm in a slump! I really haven't been doing anything crafty, although I've been picking at the Christmas Rules cross stitch project. I would like to have it completed by the end of May...but I have no ambition to work on it...so we'll see if it gets finished.

99.8% of the time....
99.8% of the time...I'm the individual who buys a cooking magazine for the pictures! I'm the same way with any quilting, knitting, or stamping magazine or cookbook...for that matter. The pictures are pretty...yep, I'll buy the periodical!
Well, today was the day, I worked the .2%...the other day, I purchased the Food Network Magazine (May 2013). It had a picture of cinnamon rolls...they looked yummy! But then, I saw the picture of Poppy Seed-Lemon Twists....well, they looked like heaven!
This morning, I made them. However, it required Poppy Seed Pie Filling...I didn't have it, so I made the filling from scratch! My darling hubby said it tasted like his mother's filling...wasn't that nice of him to say!?
And I didn't make the sweet dough, instead, I cheated, I let the bread machine do the work. I'll probably try the magazine's recipe for sweet dough, but I didn't feel like experimenting, so I stuck with something I knew...
Any ho, here's the pic of Twists, right out of the oven with the lemon drizzle: And yes, I will make them again; it was an easy recipe...and they are delicious! and I mean, D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!

Lazy day...kinda
Lazy day....kinda...sorta...today, I haven't done much! Which has been really nice! I have managed to get some laundry done, bed sheets washed, played with the dog...lost the frisbee in the pine tree...dog is mad, and vacuumed the house...now, I'm stitching and watching Army Wives....so, so, so nice!

What I've been up to...
What I've been up to....well, as unexciting as it might sound...I've been up to work! Things has been crazy...and after a while it takes its toll. I'm tired, I'm cranky, heck, I can't even stand myself. But this weekend, I had the weekend off...and I didn't have anything planned, which as sooo nice! As a result, I got the chance to sit and stitch and catching up on Army Wives....exactly what I needed!

Christmas Rules by Lizzie Kat |
A weekend a way...
Hubby and I spend the last weekend in Fargo, ND. We had so much fun! We planned the weekend around the Kid Rock/Bob Seger concert...the weekend went something like this:
Friday
Arrived in Fargo; only after they had re-opened Interstate 94 because of weather related accidents. Here's a pic of a semi trailer on it's side...with a tow truck ready to haul it off.
After we got checked into the hotel, we walked over to the Fargo Air Museum;
We walked because the snow was falling so hard...and it was only a block or so away...
Went out to dinner with Tim's daughters family...here's a pic of Eric and Brittany's...adorable girls!
Saturday
Odessa came with us; so Saturday we took her to a couple Dog Parks in the Fargo area. We loved the Dike East Dog Park...located down by the river. She had a lot of fun playing with a couple of dogs which were there when we arrived.
Then we went to a second hand store; here's what I found:
Odessa was pooped...she walked herself into her kennel...which never happens...
Sunday
Headed home...ah, home sweet home...

This picture on the pattern doesn't do it any good; the sample has hanging in the store...I saw it...and loved it! Can't wait to do it up! |
Sunday

The last ones are completed....
Yep! The last ones are completed! Yippeeee! Now for the part process which I dislike greatly....the cutting of fabric! Here's a pic of the last three blocks:
Just a relaxing day...
Today...was just a relaxing day...I've been working on the embroidery baby quilt blocks...I would like to finish...or get a start on sewing the quilt blocks together, but I still need to finish a couple of the blocks, cut the fabric for the blocks and sew everything together....might be a tall order...but I remain hopeful!
Any today was relaxing because I got a chance to Skype with my BF to work on a scrapbook album; we've get working on it for the last three or so weeks....and it's turned out really cute...so I'll post pics when I'm finished! Cool beans?!
But here's the pics of the blocks which are finished:

Getting ready for the sidelights...
As I mentioned in an earlier posting, I purchased Moda's Fruitcake fabric from eBay. I've picked out the fabric which I want to use in the Sidelights pattern; and I knew that I'd had leftovers...but I didn't know I'd have so much....Yippee! And I have no idea what I'm going to do with it, but I don't need to know that right now...so I've tucked it away for a later day!
Anyho, I showcased each of the fabrics and here's what I'm going to use:
I think it's going to be pretty...however, I'm not sure I'll have enough of the turquoise, so I'm going to stop by the local quilt shop in St. Cloud...to see if I can find the fabric or something close to it. Cross my fingers....I hope I find the same stuff!
I'm excited to get this quilt going, but I have to finish the embroidery quilt first! I'm off this weekend, so I'm going to see if I can get it done!

I know...I know...I know
I know...I know...I know...these embroidery blocks aren't on my list of 2013 projects, but I found them the other day...and thought, "I'm sooo close to being finished..." I just need to embroider a running stitch around the images, then I can sew the quilt blocks together.
These blocks are my first embroidery project; it was so much fun...I would do this project again!
Anyhow, here's a pic of the pattern and where I am:

And so I added a border....
So remember I made this quilt for my darling husband...and it was a kit he picked out for me, while on a fishing trip. Well, I laid out the quilt to show him that it was finished! And what did he say...."where's the border?" I said, "there's no border..." He says, "Well, can you add a border?" I said, "Um, sure..." And in the back of my mind...I'm thinking I don't have any matching fabric....it isn't some thing I have in my stash....and crap, I'm not done with it....if he wants me to add a border....
Well, I took the quilt to my local quilt store, Quilted Treasures. Mary, the owner, was great....she helped me find this border fabric. Hoping my darling husband likes it! And I won't openly admit it, but I like it better with the border. Well, I'm OFFICIALLY done with this quilt...and moving on!

A weekend getaway....
Tim and I managed to getaway this past weekend to spend time with family. However, on Saturday, we snuck off for a drive to Walker; he went to a local sportsmen store...and I went to the Front Porch Quilt Store!! I hadn't been to this quilt store, so it was exciting to visit! My conclusion, I loved the store; they carried smaller wool projects, their own patterns as well as lots of beautiful fabric! Here's a couple of the things I purchased:
I, also, sweet talked my darling husband to stop by the Piecemaker's Quilt Store in Hackensack, MN! They have a great collection of civil war fabrics, so I love stopping there anytime we are in a 50 mile radius! I can't wait to get home to create my own kit from my fabric stash! Anyho, here's some of the goodies, I got there:
